I think it’s brilliant.
It’s been baffling to me from the beginning why people found this so offensive. If you saw an ad that showed a door handle and 35 people “checked in” there, and the ad said, “wash your hands,” would that be offensive? Hardly. And I genuinely don’t understand why this is any different than that.
People have sex with people. And then most of the time, they have sex with other people. AIDS and HIV are so frequently blanketed as an African problem or a gay issue. I can’t recall a single campaign previous to this one that was so clear in saying that HIV is a disease anyone can get.
In the end, any campaign that encourages you to wear a condom is a smart one.
